Our Team
Albury Wodonga Youth Ballet has a wonderful, experienced team who are passionate about dance and performance! We want to showcase the incredible talent of the next generation of dancers, and provide them with valuable experience in auditioning for, rehearsing, and performing full-length ballets.

Beth Docker, ARAD
Artistic Director

Beth has been dancing for over 20 years and teaching dance for 8. She began dancing at age 4 and completed her early training at Murray Youth Ballet in Albury.
​
At age 16 she commenced full-time ballet training at the prestigious Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney, where she performed as part of Sydney City Youth Ballet. During her first year at TPA, Beth travelled to Belgium to compete in the Genee International Ballet Competition.
​
After finishing Year 12, Beth accepted a position with Melbourne City Ballet company. In her first year at MCB she was invited to be a Guest Artist with Melbourne City Youth Ballet, performing the lead role of Aurora in their production of The Sleeping Beauty. This production was nominated for an Ausdance Award for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Dance. Beth also performed and toured extensively with the company in shows including 'The Nutcracker', 'Don Quixote', 'Alice in Wonderland' and more.

Beth's choreographic experience includes having her works 'Fracture' and 'Communication' performed in School of MCB's 2019 and 2020 contemporary seasons, creating dozens of competition and performance routines for studios throughout the Riverina region, and choreographing for MYPA ('The Snow Queen', 'The Little Mermaid', 'Peter Pan', 'Coppelia') and AWYB ('The Nutcracker', 'Alice In Wonderland', 'Cinderella').

Beth is currently studying her Certificate in Dance Teaching with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Diella Wade
Associate Choreographer
Diella has 10 years’ experience teaching dance in a variety of styles to a broad range of ages. She started teaching as a student whilst studying ballet and contemporary dance vocationally in Wodonga, VIC.
In 2017 she traveled overseas and spent three years in England pursuing a performance career in dance. Whilst overseas, Diella continued to teach as well as having the opportunity to learn from practicing dance artists, and explore new techniques and styles. Since returning home to Australia she has taught at various schools throughout the Riverina and has enjoyed incorporating the knowledge she gained overseas into her classes.

Diella has completed her RAD ballet exams up to Advanced 2 and holds a Certificate IV in Dance. She has a growing passion to provide a fun, nurturing environment for children to learn new skills, express themselves and connect with others. Diella is excited to continue learning and sharing knowledge as a member of the Albury Wodonga Youth Ballet team.

Gabby Berry

Gabby began dancing at age 3, first at Miss Parry's School of Dance and then Murray Youth Performing Arts. She has trained in many dance styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, commercial and musical theatre.
While at MYPA, Gabby studied RAD ballet and completed many RAD exams with Distinction. In addition to her MYPA classes, Gabby studied dance at James Fallon High School and in 2021 received a Callback nomination for exemplary work in her HSC Dance choreography.

Gabby was part of the Riverina Dance Ensemble for 7 years and the NSW State Ensemble for 3 years. She performed in the NSW School Spectacular numerous times, both as a member of the State Ensemble and in the regional section. In 2019, she successfully auditioned to be a featured dancer, performing as the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz.

After receiving a scholarship to participate in a Jason Coleman Ministry of Dance program, Gabby was invited to be part of the MOD Star program. She travelled to Melbourne regularly to attend weekend classes and gain extra dance opportunities.
Gabby has taught at MYPA and MT Dance Creative, as well as teaching and choreographing for the Riverina Dance Ensemble. She was Associate Choreographer for AWYB's 'Nutcracker' and 'Alice in Wonderland' seasons, and worked closely with Beth to choreograph and teach for these seasons.
